About the 2012 National Festival

Regional Dance America, will be holding one major national festival in 2012. For only the third time in the history of regional dance, the organization will congregate on a national level at one major festival. All of the member companies will participate in the special five day festival following the similar format for the regional three day festivals.

The purpose of this National Festival is:

  • To provide educational and performing opportunities for students with a serious commitment to their dance education
  • To provide net-working opportunities for directors and teachers from across the United States and Canada
  • To increase the awareness that RDA is an important and valuable part of the fabric and history of the North American dance community

Festival Specifics

  • A total of over two thousand pre-professional dancers and dance professionals will attend the festival in 2012.
  • There will be five evenings of performances.
  • Master classes for all attending dancers will be taught daily by renowned dance instructors.

The festivals will have teachers at the top of their fields who will teach master classes in:

  • ballet
  • modern
  • jazz
  • improvisation
  • contemporary
  • Other related dance topics
